How to Set Up IPTV on Android TV and Google TV Televisions

Setting up IPTV on Android TV is one of the easiest jobs in this series. Install a player from Google Play, open its Xtream Codes login and type the three ZorbaIPTV details we send you on WhatsApp. This guide covers smart TVs that run Google TV or Android TV (many Sony, TCL, Hisense and Philips models) plus boxes such as the Nvidia Shield. Most of the time you never need to sideload anything. When a player is missing from Google Play, we also show the Downloader route with honest warnings. Stuck on a screen? Photograph it and send it to us on WhatsApp, and a real person will tell you which button to press next.

What you need to set up ZorbaIPTV on Android TV

  • A TV or box that runs Google TV or certified Android TV
  • A Google account signed in, because Google Play needs one
  • Your ZorbaIPTV login from WhatsApp: server address, username and password
  • The TV remote, or the Google TV app on your phone to type faster
  • Home internet on Wi-Fi 5 GHz or an Ethernet cable

No credentials yet? Ask for the free 24-hour ZorbaIPTV trial, no card required, and practice these steps on your own screen. Not sure this is the right guide? The setup hub helps you pick by device, and the Xtream Codes login explainer covers the three lines we send. Ready to order? Compare plan lengths and screen counts.

How to set up ZorbaIPTV on Android TV, in 12 beginner steps

  1. Confirm your TV runs Google TV or Android TV

Press the gear or Settings button on the remote. Open System, then About (older sets say Device Preferences, About). Look for Android TV OS in the list. If the screen instead says Tizen, webOS or Roku, this is the wrong guide; use our Samsung, LG or Roku walkthrough. Phone-style Android boxes are covered at the end of this page.

    Choose a ZorbaIPTV plan

  2. Install pending updates

In the same About area, open System update and install anything waiting. Restart the TV afterwards. Updated firmware plays more stream types and fixes known bugs. While you are there, note the Android TV OS version; our team may ask for it if something does not behave as described.

  3. Open the app store

On Google TV, go to the Apps tab at the top of the home screen and choose Search for apps. On older Android TV screens, open the Google Play Store tile. You need a Google account signed in. If the TV asks you to sign in, the easiest way is to scan the code it shows with your phone.

  4. Install TiViMate or another player

Search for TiViMate. Check the developer name on the listing, then choose Install. TiViMate is the most popular player on Android TV because its guide looks like a cable box. If you prefer large tiles, search for an IPTV Smarters or iMPlayer listing instead. Store listings change, so availability is accurate at the time of writing (October 2026).

  5. Open the player and choose Xtream Codes

Launch the player from the Apps row. TiViMate shows Add playlist; choose Xtream Codes. Smarters shows Login with Xtream Codes API. Xtream Codes is the login type with three boxes: server address, username and password. It is the format ZorbaIPTV sends by default, and it brings channels, guide data and the movie library together.

  6. Type the login, or use your phone as a keyboard

Typing with arrow keys is slow. Install the Google TV app on your phone, connect it to the TV and use its keyboard instead. Copy the server line letter for letter, http:// included, right through to the port digits after the colon. Then fill in username and password, capitals untouched. Press Next and name the playlist ZorbaIPTV.

  7. Wait for the first sync

The first load fetches every channel group, the guide data and the on-demand library. On a budget TV this can take a few minutes. Leave the remote alone until the progress bar disappears. Afterwards the player only fetches changes, so it opens quickly every other time.

  8. Check channels, guide and picture

Open the TV guide or Live TV and confirm groups are listed down the side. Scroll across and check program names appear; if not, give the guide data time to fill. Play a channel you know for a few minutes. Then open a movie from the library. If all four work, the setup is complete.

  9. Turn on frame-rate matching if offered

Some Google TV sets offer a Match content frame rate option under Settings, Display and Sound, Advanced display settings. When the player supports it, this makes motion look smoother. Your TV may blink for a second when it switches. If the option is missing, skip this step; it is a nicety, not a requirement.

  10. Add favorites and pin the app

Long-press the center button on a channel you watch often and add it to favorites. On the Google TV home screen, highlight the player in the Apps row, hold the center button and choose Move to put it near the front. Now anyone in the house can find it.

  11. Sideload only if a player is missing

If the player you want is not in Google Play, install Downloader from Google Play. Turn on developer mode by pressing Android TV OS build seven times in About. Then allow Downloader under Settings, Apps, Security and restrictions, Unknown sources. Use only the developer official address. If Google Play Protect warns you, stop and ask us on WhatsApp first.

  12. Send a photo if you get stuck

Every Android TV brand words its menus a little differently. If your screen does not match, take a photo and send it to ZorbaIPTV on WhatsApp at +44 7451 256085 with the step number. A real person replies with the next button to press. This help is free with every plan and the trial.

Stuck on one of these steps? Take a photo of your screen with your phone and send it to us on WhatsApp. A real person will tell you which button to press next.

Choosing a player on Android TV

Start with TiViMate on Android TV. It installs from Google Play, it reads the ZorbaIPTV Xtream login, and its guide grid feels familiar to anyone who has used cable. If the grid feels busy, IPTV Smarters Pro or iMPlayer give a simpler, tile-based layout. All three are third-party apps. ZorbaIPTV does not make, own or sell them; we provide the login they need.

PlayerWhere to get itBest for
TiViMateGoogle PlayA cable-style guide on the main TV
IPTV Smarters ProGoogle Play when listed, otherwise the developer site through DownloaderBig buttons and a gentle learning curve
iMPlayerGoogle PlayA tidy menu with a built-in guide view

Paid upgrades, such as TiViMate Premium, go to the app developer. Check the developer's own site for the current price. The full app guides are here: TiViMate setup, Smarters setup and iMPlayer setup. Own a streaming box from Walmart or Google instead of a smart TV? The onn and Google TV Streamer guide covers those boxes in detail.

Phone-style Android boxes

Some no-name boxes run phone Android rather than certified Android TV. Google Play on those boxes may hide TV apps, and updates are rare. They can still work through Downloader, but menus are unpredictable. Send us a photo of the About screen and we will tell you honestly whether the box is worth the trouble. Our guide to IPTV boxes lists easier options.

Login formats, first checks and WhatsApp help

Use the Xtream Codes login on Android TV. It fills the channel groups, the program guide and the movie and series library from one set of details. The M3U link also works and is the fallback if a player has no Xtream option. A portal URL is only for MAG-style boxes, so Android TV owners can ignore it. Read the Xtream Codes explainer or the M3U explainer if the words are new.

What a good first run looks like

  • Channel list: groups appear down the side within a few minutes of the first login.
  • Guide data: program names show beside most channels. If the clock on the TV is wrong, the guide will look shifted.
  • Picture: a channel you know plays steadily for several minutes. Channel quality is HD, FHD or 4K, and 4K only where the broadcaster supplies it.

For a steadier picture, use an Ethernet cable or the 5 GHz network. Google explains app installs and settings in the Google TV Help Center, and how Play Protect scans sideloaded apps in the Android TV Help Center. Google has also announced extra checks on apps from unverified developers; how that affects TV boxes may change after October 2026, so ask us if you see a new warning.

Whenever a screen looks different, send a photo of it to ZorbaIPTV on WhatsApp at +44 7451 256085. A real person looks at it and replies with the next step, day or night. You can try all of this during the 24-hour free trial, then pick a plan on the pricing page. New to IPTV in general? Start with how to set up IPTV, the beginner version.

Where to find the main menus on Android TV

App and system updates sometimes rename or move menus. Use this table as a map, not a promise. Seeing a slightly different label? Go with the nearest match, or snap a picture of the TV for us on WhatsApp.

Want the developer's or maker's own instructions? Visit the Google TV Help: install apps on Google TV. Remember that the app comes from its developer, not from ZorbaIPTV, and any paid tier is paid to them. Use the trial to check that the app, your device and our login work well together before you buy.

Picture pausing or slow to start? Check these first

  • Your connection: nothing beats a network cable. On wireless, choose the 5 GHz network and keep the router no more than a room or two away.
  • Other traffic at home: large downloads, game updates and cloud backups all share the same line. Pause them while you watch.
  • The app: close it fully and reopen it. If the player has a buffer setting, raising it one step can help.
  • The device: restart the stick, box or TV. Small streaming sticks run better after a fresh start.
  • The channel: some channels come in more than one version. Try another, then tell us which one gave you trouble.

Our streams come in HD, FHD and 4K; the 4K version exists only when the channel itself broadcasts in 4K. Bandwidth and hardware for that are covered in what 4K IPTV requires at home. Common Android TV setup problems and how to fix them

The player is not in Google Play

Store listings vary by country and change over time. Try another player from the table above first. If you need that exact app, use Downloader with the developer official address, or ask us on WhatsApp which player currently installs on your model.

Unknown sources is missing

On Google TV the setting sits under Settings, Apps, Security and restrictions. On older Android TV it sits under Device Preferences, Security and restrictions. Downloader must be installed before it appears in the list. Some brands rename it, so send us a photo if you cannot find it.

Play Protect blocks the install

Play Protect warns about apps it does not recognize. Do not switch protection off to force an unknown file. Check that the address came from the developer official site. If it did and the warning remains, ask our team; a player from Google Play is often the simpler answer.

Login rejected

Check the server address for http:// at the start and the port at the end. Retype the password by hand and watch for capital letters. A finished trial or plan also fails. Send a photo of the filled-in login screen to us on WhatsApp.

No channels after signing in

The first sync may still be running in the background. Wait a few minutes, then reopen the player. In TiViMate, open Settings, Playlists, select your playlist and choose Update. In Smarters, sign out and back in.

Sound plays but the screen is black

The TV is struggling to decode that stream. Update the system, then switch the decoder in the player settings from hardware to software, or the other way round. Try a different version of the same channel and report the one that fails.

The TV blinks when a channel starts

Frame-rate matching is switching the display mode, which is normal. If it bothers you, set Match content frame rate to Never or to seamless only in the display settings.

The app freezes on its logo

Open Settings, Apps, choose the player and select Clear cache, then restart the TV. Do not use Clear data unless asked, because it removes the saved login and favorites.

Setting up ZorbaIPTV on Android TV: common questions

How do I install IPTV on an Android TV?

Open Google Play from the Apps tab, install a player such as TiViMate, then open it and choose the Xtream Codes login. Type the server address, username and password from your ZorbaIPTV WhatsApp message, and wait for the first load. Check that channels, guide data and a test channel all work. No sideloading is needed when the player is in Google Play.

Which IPTV app is best for an Android TV?

For most homes, TiViMate. It installs from Google Play, reads the Xtream login and shows a cable-style guide. IPTV Smarters Pro and iMPlayer suit people who prefer big buttons. All three are third-party apps; ZorbaIPTV supplies the login, not the app, so try two during the free trial and keep the one you like.

Do I need to sideload anything on Google TV?

Usually not. TiViMate and iMPlayer install straight from Google Play. You only need Downloader, developer mode and the Unknown sources setting if the player you want is missing from the store in your country. If Google Play Protect shows a warning while sideloading, stop and message our team on WhatsApp before going further.

Why is my Android TV guide one hour off?

The TV clock or time zone is wrong. Open Settings, System, Date and time, turn on automatic date and time, and check the time zone. Then update the playlist and guide inside the player. Guide data from your ZorbaIPTV login follows the TV clock, so fixing the clock fixes the guide.

Can I use the same login on my Android TV and my phone?

Yes. Install a player on the phone and enter the same ZorbaIPTV details. How many devices can play at the same moment depends on your plan: 1, 2, 3 or 5 screens. Saving the login on extra devices is fine; only screens playing at the same time count.
