How to Set Up a MAG or Formuler IPTV Box: A Beginner Walkthrough

How to set up ZorbaIPTV on MAG and Formuler box, in 12 beginner steps

1. Connect the box before anything else

   Plug the box into the TV with the HDMI cable, then plug in the power. If you can, run a network cable from the box to your router. A cable is steadier than Wi-Fi and saves a step later. Switch the TV to the HDMI input the box uses. You should see the box start up within a minute.

2. Find the MAC address

   Turn the box over and look for a sticker with a line marked MAC. It is twelve characters in pairs, split by colons, such as 00:1A:79:xx:xx:xx. MAG boxes always start with 00:1A:79. You can also find it on screen: on a MAG, open Settings and then Device info. On a Formuler, MyTVOnline shows it near the top of its connection screen.

3. Send the MAC address to us on WhatsApp

   Take a clear photo of the sticker and send it to ZorbaIPTV on WhatsApp at +44 7451 256085. A photo beats typing, because the number 0 and the letter O look almost the same. Tell us whether it is a MAG or a Formuler. We link that MAC address to your plan or your free trial.

4. Wait for the portal URL to arrive

   The reply comes on WhatsApp, usually in under 15 minutes. It holds one web address, the portal URL. It often ends in /c/ or /stalker_portal/c/. Copy it exactly as written, including the slash at the end. Do not add or remove anything, and do not change http to https.

5. On a MAG, open the portal settings

   At the time of writing (October 2026), current Infomir firmware puts this under Settings, then Servers, then Portals. Some older boxes call the first menu System settings, so open that one if you see it. On the Portals screen you will see slots named Portal 1 and Portal 2, each with a name field and a URL field.

6. Type the portal URL into Portal 1

   Select the Portal 1 name field and type ZorbaIPTV. Then select the Portal 1 URL field and type the address from WhatsApp, one character at a time. The on-screen keyboard has a key for the slash and the colon. Check the whole line against the message, then press OK and Save.

7. Restart and let the portal load

   Go back to the main settings screen and choose Reboot portal, or simply unplug the power for ten seconds. When the box starts again it loads the portal on its own. The first load can take a minute. You should land on a home screen with tiles such as TV, Video Club or Movies, and Settings.

8. On a Formuler, add the connection in MyTVOnline

   Open MyTVOnline from the Formuler home screen. Choose the option to add a portal, give it a name and paste or type the portal URL. If you asked us for an Xtream login instead, pick the Xtream connection type and enter the server URL, username and password. Save, and the app downloads your channel list.

9. Do a two-minute first-run check

   Open TV and play any news channel for a minute. Then open the TV guide and check that the program times match your clock. Try one movie in the on-demand section. If all three work, the setup is done. If one of them fails, look at the problem list further down this page before you change any settings.

10. Set the time if the guide is off

    Wrong guide times nearly always mean a wrong clock. On a MAG, open Settings, then Servers, then General, and put pool.ntp.org in the NTP server field. Then pick your time zone under the clock settings. On a Formuler, use the normal Android Date and time menu. Restart the portal afterward.

11. Save favorites so you are not scrolling

    With 25,000+ channels, scrolling is slow. On a MAG portal, highlight a channel and press the button the bottom bar shows for favorites, often a colored key. In MyTVOnline, press and hold OK on a channel. Add five or six channels you watch every week, and they appear together in a Favorites group.

12. Add a second box or another device later

    Each MAG needs its own MAC address linked by us, so send a new photo for each box. Phones, sticks and smart TVs use the Xtream login instead. Your plan covers one, two, three or five screens playing at the same moment. Tell us on WhatsApp what you are adding and we send the right login.

MAG or Formuler: which box suits a beginner?

Both boxes play the full ZorbaIPTV lineup of 25,000+ live channels and the 120,000+ on-demand library. The main difference is how much you want to tinker. A MAG is a closed box that does one job. A Formuler runs Android underneath, so it can also run other players. This table sums up the choice.

Why a MAG box uses a MAC address instead of a password

A MAC address is a hardware ID that every network device carries, a bit like a serial number for its network port. MAG boxes use the Stalker middleware system, which checks that ID each time the box asks for the channel list. If the ID is on our list, the portal opens. If it is not, the box shows a message such as "STB blocked" or "Authentication failed". That is why you never type a password on a MAG, and why the first step is always sending us the MAC address.

The same idea works on some Android sticks with an app called STBEmu, which imitates a MAG box and shows its own MAC address. It works, but most people find an Xtream player easier. Infomir publishes manuals and firmware notes for each MAG model on the official Infomir website. Formuler lists its models and the MyTVOnline app on the official Formuler website. Menu names can change after a firmware update, so if your screen differs from this guide, send us a photo.

Picture pausing or slow to start? Check these first

• Your connection: nothing beats a network cable. On wireless, choose the 5 GHz network and keep the router no more than a room or two away.
• Other traffic at home: large downloads, game updates and cloud backups all share the same line. Pause them while you watch.
• The app: close it fully and reopen it. If the player has a buffer setting, raising it one step can help.
• The device: restart the stick, box or TV. Small streaming sticks run better after a fresh start.
• The channel: some channels come in more than one version. Try another, then tell us which one gave you trouble.

Common MAG and Formuler box setup problems and how to fix them

The box says STB blocked or Authentication failed

The MAC address is not linked yet, or one character was read wrong. Send a sharper photo of the sticker on WhatsApp. Once we correct it, choose Reboot portal and the channel menu should load.

Loading portal stays on screen forever

Check the portal URL letter by letter, including the slash at the end. A missing slash or an extra space is the usual cause. Also confirm the box has an internet connection in the network settings.

The portal URL will not save

Some firmware rejects an address that starts with a space or ends with a dot. Delete the field and type it again from scratch. If it still fails, send us a photo of the screen.

Guide times are one or more hours off

The box clock is wrong. Type pool.ntp.org into the NTP server field, pick the right time zone and restart the portal. Listings then match the program on screen.

Sound plays but the screen stays black

That channel may use a video format older boxes cannot decode. Pick another version of the same channel in the group, usually marked HD or FHD. If many channels do this, tell us the box model.

Your account has expired

The plan or trial has reached its end date. Message us on WhatsApp to add time. The same portal URL keeps working, and nothing renews on its own.

Too many connections or the stream stops

Only so many screens may stream together on one plan. A box left on another channel still counts. Turn off the other device, wait a minute and try again.
